Meet Josh, a Level III Controls Engineer based out of the Murray, KY office. Joining LSI in 2019, Josh has rapidly developed a diverse skillset and consistently delights clients across several industries. His technical leadership makes him a “go-to” engineer for the Murray office and other LSI branches. Josh is best described as knowledgeable, dedicated, and trustworthy. I started in November of 2019, so just over three years.

Controls Engineer
Where did you go to college?
Bethel University in McKenzie, TN
What industries have you been involved in?
Specialty Chemical, Steel Mills, Pulp and Paper, Food and Bev, and Automotive
What is your area of expertise?
Siemens hardware and configuration
What platforms are you familiar with?
Siemens Step7 and TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, and Cognex Vision Systems are the ones I typically work with.
What has been your favorite project at LSI?
My favorite project was a controls upgrade to a large combination boiler in a paper mill. It was rewarding to see how people from multiple LSI offices were able to execute the project seamlessly.
What is your proudest moment at LSI?
Just the general pride after every successful project!

I would say the collective knowledge that our team has. It allows us to work with almost any process using practically every platform.
What are three ways or words that you would use to describe LSI?
Challenging, rewarding, and dependable.
What is one thing that clients may not know about LSI that you would like to share?
One thing I would share is the wide range of expertise that we offer. No matter the size or type of project, we most likely have someone with the skill set needed to take on the challenge.

Because we always deliver. We work diligently to ensure clients are taken care of every time they have a need.
How has LSI helped you in your career development?
LSI has broadened my knowledge of different platforms, and given me the opportunity to work with many different technologies, skill sets, and perspectives.
What advice do you have for prospective LSI candidates?
At LSI, if you have the desire and drive to learn and exceed, you will be as successful as you want to be.
How do you like to spend your free time?
My free time is spent with family and raising our small children. I also enjoy tinkering with 3D printing and gaming (both tabletop and computer).
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Camping in the mountains with my family.
