Q&A with Craig
To get to know Craig better, we asked him four questions about his career journey and what he looks forward to as he begins his new role with LSI.
How did your career journey lead you to Process Engineering?
I often laugh to myself when I think about how I picked a focus in high school. My interest in chemistry and science led me to explore related fields, and ultimately, I decided on chemical engineering. During my time in college, my internships with Kraft General Foods and my exposure to the Dairy Industry via Membrane Systems Specialists really solidified my desire to work in process engineering, particularly within the food and beverage industry.
What are you looking forward to the most in your new role at LSI?
I’m looking forward to advancing our process engineering business – working with the team and directly with clients to deliver solutions. Whether in capital project execution or optimization of existing assets to grow their bottom line.
What trends in your field are you most excited about?
Advances in 3D Modeling – The ability to easily scan existing spaces allows for higher adoption of 3D modeling in existing operations, ensuring that all aspects of project execution are clearly visible and easily understood by operations. It also provides a:
- Better understanding of environmental, health, and safety concerns
- Identification of installation conflicts and assurance of maintenance access to equipment
- Ability to streamline installation to reduce on-site labor to reduce cost and risk of personnel injury
- And most importantly, it helps deliver a product that all parties are excited to own in the end.
Outside of engineering, what do you enjoy doing in your free time? Any favorite hobbies or interests?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends when it involves time outdoors, whether on the boat, in the woods, hiking, or traveling.
