Q&A with Tom
To get to know Tom better, we asked him a few questions as he begins his new role with LSI.
How did your professional journey bring you to LSI?
I have been in the technology industry for 25 years, working for a start-up, a large multinational company in Intel Corporation, and a mid-sized consulting project company. One thing that has always been constant for me was to be customer-centric. That is, I am thinking about how the solutions that my company offers best meet the customers’ needs. I start with the customer and work backwards to always meet their needs and add value.
What trends in your field are you most excited about?
It will be interesting to see where AI will be implemented with MES and edge IoT computing. My interactions with customers usually have included full solution offerings, including software, and that seems to be more pervasive today. I also follow trends in quantum computing and where quantum physics will impact industries and, thus, the world.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing in your free time? Any favorite hobbies or interests?
I enjoy remaining active outdoors, including hiking, biking, and traveling. Having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area and lived in Oregon, I enjoy wine tasting as well.
